Town of Bostwick
The Town of Bostwick is 11 miles north of Madison. It was named after John Bostwick, a Georgia State Representative. More than any other individual, Bostwick helped develop and bring prosperity to the community. He built a cotton gin and was the leading force in organizing and establishing a railroad that ran from Bostwick to Apalachee, later winding its way to Monroe. The Town of Bostwick thrived in the 1920's when cotton was king.
